Call for Nominations for the Richard-von-Mises-Prize of the GAMM 2011

Since 1989, awards the GAMM annually to the Richard-von-Mises-Prize for excellent scientific achievements in the area of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics.

Traditionally the prize is awarded during the opening of the annual meeting of GAMM.

The prizewinner will present respectively his/her work in a keynote lecture.

The prize serves as support of younger scientists whose research projects show essential progress in the area of applied mathematics and mechanics.

The prizewinner should not be older than 36 years. Discontinuous careers can take into consideration.

University teachers and persons in suitable positions in the research are entitled to propose. Also the possibility of own application is given.

Suggestions or applications should contain a motivation letter and the following documents of the candidate:

-         Curriculum Vitae,

-         Publication list,

-         Copies of the most important scientific works (max. 4).

These should be directed to the President of GAMM, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Wriggers, mainly in electronic form.

The submission deadline is September 30th, 2010.

The President of the GAMM chairs the the Richard-von-Mises-Prizecommitee which has the following members:
